Help keep our Library one of the finest in the nation
Through the generous support of many civic-minded individuals, corporations and foundations, The Foundation has provided start-up funding for new programs, such as technology and expanded Sunday and evening service hours, that are now included in the Library's city-funded budget.
Foundation-funded programs such as One Book, One Chicago, Teachers in the Library, the Summer Reading Program, and Great Kids Read, keep the spirit of books and the thrill of discovery alive for all Chicagoans.
Please join us in support of the Chicago Public Library. Your gift will help keep our Library one of the finest in the country—providing all Chicagoans with the opportunity and freedom to read, learn and to discover.
All gifts of $1,000 or more qualify for membership in the Chicago Public Library Foundation's The Sandburg Society, a group of donors dedicated to books, reading and the Chicago Public Library. The Sandburg Society members are invited to exclusive author events throughout the year in private clubs and homes, receive reserved, preferred seating at all Chicago Public Library book and author events, and are recognized on the donor plaque in the lobby of the Harold Washington Library Center. To obtain a schedule of upcoming events, log on to the Chicago Public Library's website at chicagopubliclibrary.org. For information on becoming a member of The Sandburg Society or to find out more about future events, please call 312.201.9830.
A Legacy of Reading
There is a way to see that your legacy endures for future generations of Chicago readers by considering an estate gift to the Chicago Public Library Foundation. The Chicago Public Library Foundation was established in 1986 as an independent, nonprofit educational organization dedicated to working with the City of Chicago in a true public/private partnership to enrich the collections and programs of the Chicago Public Library.
Through the generous support of many civic-minded individuals, corporations and foundations, the Foundation has provided start-up funding for new programs, such as technology and expanded service hours, that are now included in the Library's city-funded budget. The Foundation also provides on-going funding, through its endowments and annual fundraising for collections and for a variety of community-based programs that contribute to the excellence of the Library. For information on making an estate gift to the Chicago Public Library Foundation, call Rhona Frazin at 312.201.9830 or send an inquiry to her attention at 20 N.
